"Pine Point - Present house was built for Captain Alexander S. Palmer and brother Captain Nathaniel Palmer by Colins and Sons. The house was completed in 1853. The Captains lived there from that date until their deaths. Captain Nathaniel and wife (Eliza Babcock) Palmer has no children. Captain N. died 1877, wife died 1851. Captain Alex had four sons, Alexander, Nathaniel, and Louis Lambert. A daughter, E.D. died 1929. Capt. Nathaniel Palmer died in San Francisco, June 1, 1877. Nathaniel Palmer, 2nd, died at seas, May 16, 1877. Both buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Stonington, the same day, 1877.
