Description

A baby or small child's bonnet, c. 19th century, found inside the wall on the second floor of the Lighthouse during renovations in spring 2020. It is unknown whether this item was a prop that fell off a doll and into the wall, or something that belonged to a lighthouse keeper and was not found until this point. Bonnet is composed of two pieces, and all floral or leaf openings are lined with a very thin mesh material. Two holes in the front corners provide a space for ribbon to hold the bonnet on.
