black and white photograph (framed) of James E. Palmer at his farm house in Wequetequock. James E. Palmer was born March 23, 1842 in Stonington and died September 6, 1914. He was the son of Capt. Frederick and Lucy Ann (Burdick) Palmer. In 1873 he introduced the first peking duck to this country (see Historical FootnotesVol. V, No. 4, Oct. 1868). James is the 5th great grandson of Walter Palmer and the 5th cousin, once removed, of Nathaniel Brown Palmer.
