Scope and Content

Scrapbook of May Emma Gale containing newspaper clippings from 1869 to 1872, essays, cartoons, illustrations. May Gale was born in Illinois in 1855 and was living in Stonington by 1870. She was the daughter of John Hamilton Gale (1825-1904) and Phoebe Pendleton Gale (1830-1915). May died in December 1903 and is buried in the Stonington Cemetery.
