Day Book of Dr. Charles Erskine Brayton documenting his patients from November 1, 1887 to April 15, 1898. Each entry has the date, name of the patient, services or goods rendered, and the cost. On the left hand side, for each name, is a number that cannot be identified. It is probably a listing of page number for a ledger or account book that we do not have. It does not correspond to any page numbers in the volumes we received and may indicate an individual's Account Number at his pharmacy. In this volume Dr. Brayton charges for advice, doctor's appointments, various medicines and includes if it was a child, or family visiting his office. This includes many Stonington residents - Hyde, Conners, Chesebro, York, Wheeler, Stanton, Noyes, Mellow, Bradley, Sylva and more.
Most of the entries are for doctor's appointments and advice but there are some descriptions like a dislocated elbow, autopsy on a Chesebro daughter, pain in the knee and lancing abscess.Collection
