Scope and Content

Documents and some images of the Reverend Jerome Schneck Anderson (1805-1846) and his wife, Catharine Elizabeth Douglass Anderson (d. 1892). This also includes some manuscripts created by the Reverend and his wife. -Small leather journal created by Rev. Jerome S. Anderson, the front flyleaf reads "A Directory showing all the places and ministers names where Jerome S. Anderson, preached; also a record of time and text, No of Sermons preached in each year and every year. N. Ark Oct.5, 1829" -small envelope with Allen Ross, Stonington CT printed on the front. Also has a written note "Catharine E. Anderson, Grandma A" -print envelope with three different photographs of Catharine E. Anderson. The first is undated, but shows Mrs. Anderson in a shiny dress, probably taken in the early 1860s. The second photo is Mrs. Anderson is a black dress, dated January 19, 1863. The last photo is of Mrs. Anderson in her later life probably in the 1880s or 1890s. -print envelope containing the account book of Mrs. Catharine E. Anderson for the shop of G.H. Chesebro for the year of 1860. The account book lists her purchases and total amount with the date and any payments made. -print envelope containing small book by Rev. Anderson, "Schedule of Property 1841 house and barn on hill where i live and house next to O.B. Grants" the back page also contains a list of names promising money for the purchase of a bell for the Baptist Meeting House, 1834. - photograph of Catharine Anderson's house in Stonington.
