Scope and Content

Two documents relating to the construction of the Stonington Baptist Church meeting house, erected in 1833. One manuscript is written by Clark Davis, who gave the land to the congregation and lays out the agreement for use of the land parcel. The other document is a contract to build the meeting house between William Randall, Clark Davis, Samuel Langworthy and John Davis who have hired Samuel Chesebro to construct it. Dimensions and directions for construction are included in this manuscript dated January 9, 1833. Transcriptions of these documents were made on the date of cataloging.
