A black and white portrait photograph of Vivien Kellems, co-owner of the Kellems factory with her brother, David. She was known for her tax protests. The caption beneath her photograph reads, "Vivien Kellems, president of the Kellems Company founded in 1927 at Stonington, Conn., has sold her factory. Miss Kellems, who gained nation-wide fame when she refused to collect withholding taxes from her employees, declared with the 17 different taxes the concern has to pay there is no money left for expansion.
