Collection donated by Judith DuPont as archivist of the Wadawanuck Club. This folder contains quit claims and easements for land acquired by the Club from the Loper/Babcock/Palmer families for the new club (in its current location). Folder two contains: 5. Quit Claim from Sarah Stone Darrell to the Wadawanuck Association, November 18, 1943. Discusses the right-of-way for driveway between Darrell Boatyard property and New York, New Haven, and Hartford Railroad. 6. Easement from the New York, New Haven & Hartford Railroad Co. to The Wadwanuck Club, Inc. (for $150) for property bounded by No. Water St. (driveway) 7. Collection of documents relating to the acquisition of Loper/Babcock land. One is a release for Sarah S. Darrell from A.S. Palmer mortgage from the Washington Trust Co. (original mortgage July 22, 1919), and paying her $1,000 on November 18, 1943. Another piece is a Warranty Deed for the Club property agreeing to pay the grantors - A.P. Loper, Priscilla D. Loper and Elizabeth P. Babcock - $4,000 over ten years, dated November 30, 1943. Payment confirmed by signatures of above on October 10, 1953. Warranty Deed from Alexander Palmer Loper, Priscilla Dixon Loper and Elizabeth Palmer Babcock to Wadwanuck Association for the club property on November 30, 1943. 8. Document from Sarah Stone Darrell granting easement rights to The Wadawanuck Club, Inc. on October 14, 1949 over parcel of land bordering NY, NH and H RR. 9. Quit-Claim deed from Sarah Stone Darrell to the Wadwanuck Club, Inc. property described in Document #5 on November 7, 1949. 10. Quit-Claim from Wadawanuck Association, Inc. to the Wadwanuck Club, Inc for club property purchased from Alexander Loper, Priscilla Loper, and Elizabeth Babcock in 1943 (document #6) on May 19, 1951. Signed by David M. Johnstone, Treasurer. 11. Mortgage Deed from Hartford National Bank & Trust Co. for $7,000 on April 21, 1954. Note: Paid on September 11, 1957.
