Scope and Content

A collection of correspondence, arranged in date order, for the year 1933 as it relates to the Southern New England Fisherman's Association. These letters refer to membership, the passing or protesting of legislation as it prohibits or delineates fishing areas, as well as the establishment of a bulletin relating to the association in "Fishing" - The Journal of the Commercial Fisheries. In addition to correspondence there are some official forms from the state of Connecticut, telegrams, and bonds. There are also receipts from the New London Motor Freight Company. A copy of bill H.R. 5234, introduced on April 25, 1933 to authorize the Reconstruction Finance Corporation to make loans to aid the fishing industry.
