A collection of letters written to John Ryon while he was undergoing Basic Training at Lackland Air Base in San Antonio, Texas. Letters are from his friends, siblings and parents relating details of every day life and inquiring after his well-being in the Army. Letters from his mother are full of fun details about his family life, and almost always include news of baseball with newspaper clippings. Included in this folder is a letter on Stonington Lumber stationary, signed by his friends Bill, Hal, John and Andy Perry which is quite humorous and goes through all the couples in their friend group.Collection
