A collection of letters sent to John Ryon while he was in the Army Air Corps in the spring of 1949. Most of the letters in this folder are from his mother, with news of the home front and newspaper clippings of local news in Stonington and sports. There are some cards from "Virgie", his girlfriend and future wife, as well as one letter from a friend who was stationed in Trieste, Italy. These letters discuss day to day activities; going to the movies, the weather, who came over for cards and where they had dinner, etc. All of them are asking after "Jackie" and wondering how he's doing in his assignment.Collection
