Scope and Content

Collection of documents relating to the War of 1812 and Stonington. This includes a certified copy of the muster roll of Captain Denison Noyes' Company of the 30th regiment of Connecticut militia, as well as a copy of a letter listing his regiment by Captain Noyes. There is a letter from the pay master, G.R. Hallam of the 30th regiment, dated September 24, 1814 asking for a complete listing of fines paid, who paid them, and for what, as well as money paid out to privates. There is another handwritten list by Captain Denison Noyes of the 1st Company of the 30th regiment on duty from August 11, 1814. A document entitled "Stonington Song" by "I dunno who", 1814 which is very colorful. Finally, an unsigned, unaddressed letter in bad condition explaining the writer's feelings about becoming entangled in another war with Britain.
