Photograph taken by Richard J. Scheffler on Anvers Island, Antarctica (Palmer Station) in February of 2003. Mr. Scheffler was on a Lindblad Expeditions trip on the vessel Endeavour. Photographs were taken with a Minolta Dimage 7Hi digital camera. This photograph shows the large waste containers, waiting for removal to the South American mainland. Mr. Scheffler's notes read: "Anything that comes on to Anvers Island has to leave Anvers Island, even human waste is carried away."Collection
