An agreement made by Joseph Veal, Eliphalet Buddington Jr., and Sands Niles Jr. concerning the ship "Lark", dated November 8, 1781. Joseph Veal, Eliphalet Buddington and Sands Niles together paid $1,000 to the Treasurer of the State of Connecticut. Joseph Veal was the master and commander of the "Lark" which was about to become employed as coaster for the state of Connecticut. The agreement lays out that Mr. Veal may not transport goods out of the state on his vessel and must at the end of each month turn in a manifest of his movements and cargo to Nathaniel Minor, Justice of the Peace.
