A collection of official documents from April to September of 1863 relating to the 26th Regiment of Connecticut Volunteers, all signed by First Lieutenant B.F. Tracy (1830-1915). Documents are almost entirely from Port Hudson, Louisiana just after the longest American military seige in history (48 days) had occured at the same location. Documents include stationary requisitions, monthly returns of public animals/wagons/harness/other means of transportation, quartermaster stores expended, forage requisitions for horses, special requisitions for clothing and supplies, abstracts of articles transferred between companies, and quarterly returns. The final document in this collection is a letter from the War Department to B.F. Tracy dated 1877, claiming his reasons for leaving his post are satisfactory and his record has been adjusted accordingly.
