Scope and Content

Two bills of sale signed by Charles Phelps Williams in 1842, for selling shares in the ship FELLOWES. The first is a sale to Ephraim Williams, 7/32 share for $3,062. The second bill of sale is to Hannah Elisabeth Dixon, 1/64 share for $218.75. Owners of the ship are listed as Charles P. Williams, Ephraim Williams, Oliver York, George S. Brewster, Gurdon Trumbull, Elisha Faxon, Peleg Hancox and William Pendleton. George S. Brewster was serving as captain, and the ship had been built in Westerly under the purview of Silas Greenman Jr., master carpenter.
