A library accession book created by Melville Dewey, to assist libraries in recording new books added to their collection. This volume was maintained by the Stonington Free Library from in1887. Accession records list the author, title, call number, place and publisher, the year, number of volumes, size of the volume, binding material, where it came from, the price paid and the year it was added to the collection. Some of the titles have been crossed out in red pen, which indicates it was weeded or taken out of the library's collection by the date provided. The furthest right column "remarks" has many notations, but their meaning is not clear. It could have to do with the person who accessioned the item, as it appears to be initials.Collection
