Description

Sepia photograph and black and white copy print, damage along U.S. Route 1 during the 1938 Hurricane. Given to the Society by Harry Northup before his death. With note: "Another view of Sheridan's Corner, looking South on Route #1 towards Stonington (basically North Water Street). The house to the right is where the Riley Family lived for years. Today there is a fence closing it in. I don't know if they still own the place or not. This photo was before the highway was extended through the golf course and along side the Stonington Cemetery. Note the man walking on the road to the left. The land to his right is where the golf course was at the time. Notice, there is no Shell Station or stop light there, when this picture was taken."
