A lease and agreement dated April 6, 1801 between the widow Sally Sheffield and Thomas Swan for the Amos Sheffield house in the borough. It appears from this agreement that she was renting Thomas Swan rooms in the house. Described as: "the hereby leased preimses being that part of said house hereafter described, viz: the imporvement of the lower great south room and the adjoining bedroom. The south chamber and bedroom adjoining and a part o fthe garden for sallad together with the improvement of one half ot he last or middle chamber with the half o the kitchen sinkroom and cellar, and the one half of the garret which is to be the southernmost part thereof, together with the occasional use of the privey or necessary house in the garden..."Collection
