2020.254.001Scope and Content
A log book from the Atwood Machine Company from June of 1882 to January of 1886. The log is recorded in weeks, with recorded information including: how many spindles run, the size, pounds spun, hours the machines were run, waste made, rolls made, oil used, filling packed, filling in boxes, and yarn on hand.
The first four pages have been pasted over with newspaper. It appears the log book was repurposed as a scrapbook. All the newspaper clippings have to do with crochet and knitting patterns. There were also a number of loose newspaper clippings throughout the pages, that have been removed and cataloged separately.
The very last page has a few handwritten recipes, including one for Hartford Election Cake.Collection
