Scope and Content

A collection of papers belonging to Henry A. Pendleton (1873-1965), son of Moses A Pendleton. The first is a love poem given to Henry by his wife on their first anniversary. Official correspondence from the Navy Department, dated May 3, 1862 appointing Edward H. Sheffield Master of the US steamship "Bienville". This document was presented to the Historical Society by Henry A. Pendleton. A collection of receipts from the Stonington Antique Shop at 149 Water Street, dated between 1956 and 1959, for objects sold on behalf of Henry A. Pendleton. All receipts are signed by Olga Fraser.
