Scope and Content

Wanamaker brand diary for the year 1920. The first 65 pages are advertisements, followed by information - astrological charts, general histories, etiquette, moon cycles, weights and measures, etc. There is a section on the Theatres of New York, with seating charts, and following that blank pages of daily expenses by month. Jerusha (1872-1955) wrote in the diary every day, beginning on January 1, 1920. Most of the entries include a note on the weather, and some brief description of the day's activities. No specifics, but many mentions of the milk business - who helped deliver milk, who milked the cows, how Eugene her husband was doing, what was being fixed, who visited.
