Flat Copy of "The -Harbour and Borough,of Stonington, County of New London, State of Connecticut Surveyed and Drawn by Lieut. J. Prescott , 1st Regmt of Art. 1827," scale 1:5280. Included on copy is a plan of the proposed pier, tide table kept at Stonington from Sept. 12 - Oct. 13, 1827, small map showing vicinity of Stonington, scale 1:88,000 approx. Includes a duplicate reduction from plate engraved by W. J. Stone. Traced at the US Army Engineers Office by Lewis S. Chase, 1871. There is also a blueprint of this tracing. It shows the Borough and harbor, with house plots well defined; also shows where the "Grasshopper Fort" per amos Chesebro, was situated, and where the British ships were in the Battle of Stonington, August 1814. It encompasses part of Wamphassuc Point, and well up into Lamberts Cove. One copy was presented by Frederick Noyes. One blueprint is labled #17. Flat copies in separate folder show the Harbor and Borough of Stonington only. (Remarks: It is believed that Lieut. Prescott was on duty under the orders of Lieut. Col. J. Anderson.
