Survey chart of Fishers Island Sound "republished in 1847", dated 1871. Scale 1:40,000 (This map was sent with the map and report of the survey of Stonington Harbor by Maj. G. K. Warren from the Newport Engineers Office December 18, 1871; the topography was done in 1835 and 1839, hydrography in 1839, and triangulations in 1835, the light houses, beacons and buoys corrected to January 1860. There is a wharf off of Salt Acres, no railroad bridge from Stonington to Wamphassuc, the White House near the railroad on Wamphassuc is marked, as is the "Steam boat wharf", the "Breakwater" and the "Hotel". There is a beacon north of the breakwater, and the "Fixed Light (of the Stonington Light House) 50 feet above the sea, seen 12.5 miles".
