A pencil portrait backed in cardboard of Miriam Jane Roberts (1841-1915). She married Samuel Ratcliffe (1828-1871) and later John Horrocks (1841-1899). Miriam was the mother of Alice Annie Ratcliffe and Theodora Ratcliffe. *This may be an elderly portrait of Alice Annie Ratcliffe, but considering the presence of a similar portrait done at the same time, this is most likely Miriam.
