A book of poetry written by Stonington resident, Henry Chapin. From the dust jacket: "Although his literary career spans nearly half a century and he is the author of many other books - including the celebrated Adventures of Johnny Appleseed - this is the first published collection of his shorter poems. They are selected from early as well as more recent work. The book is divided into two parts. The first comprises poems of nature and New England - the scene of Henry Chapin's boyhood and youth. His sensitive and nostalgic handling of both themes is immediately evident, drawing clues about life from everything he sees. The second and larger group of poems is essentially a personal testament - more philosophical in tone - devoted to the universal perplexities of love, sex, taking chances, the puzzles of youth, age and death."
