Vessel lien; Richard B. Chute versus Schooner George F. Scannel, signed by Rathbun, attorney, January 17, 1905. Recorded in Vessel book 1, page 35 (according to William N. Peterson's "Mystic Built" ships and Shipyards of the Mystic River, Connecticut 1784 - 1919. In 1905 M. B. McDonald & Sons went into bankruptcy as a result of a mild business slump and the loss of two schooners. Undoubtly the liens noted above are part of that unfortunate and unpleasant episode (see Peterson, 76-77)
