Description

Traditional silk summer coat, made in China around 1906. Brought back by Joseph and Winifred Odell, after a trip to Asia in 1905/6. Coat is made of red damask, with panels of embroidery along the neckline, sleeve edge and hemline. A green and blue decorative border, lines the panels of embroidery. Coat has traditional side closure with monkeys fist knots and loops. Embroidery features figures, and symbols of luck. Lining is of blue silk.
