Description

Empire style sewing table with accanthus leaf pedestal. Chestnut? Four curved arms; hinged lid; reccess for thimble in middle. Wheels on base. Eight inside comparts with lids (knobs missing on two). Keyhole inlaid with mother of pearl. 2" inlay around top edge. Originally in home of Nancy Knowles' grandmother in Springfield, Ill. next door to Abraham Lincoln.
