Joy Line steamship LARCHMONT plying between Providence RI and New York City on Feb. 11, 1907 collided with the schooner HARRY P. KNOWLTON 3 1/4 miles SSE of Watch Hill Light. At 3 [degrees] above zero over 150 persons died in the tragedy. 75 forzen bodies came ashore on Block Island. Painting by Cap'n Ellery F. Thompson.
