"Outward Bound, Stonington Conn". Note on front indicates it is the "Alice S. Wentworth" in 1936 in Stonington Harbor.
Note on back from Dottie: The original 3x5 snapshot was taken on the Atwood Breakwater, Labor Day 1936 by our friend and photographer, F. O. Grady. "Alice" left a wake all the way to Faairhaven Massl with a "bone in her teeth" most of the way. Capt. Zebulon Tilton, owner and skipper and long time friend had invited my mother, Vera M. Tillotson (Capt. Tillotson's widow) and myself to sail down. "Zeb" said it was the fastest trip "Alice" ever made, probably to impress the ladies present (quote). Left Stonington Harbor 8:45a.m. and arrived Pocohontos (?) Coal docks 3:30pm. My then fiance, later husband, met us at docks and we returned to Stonington by car same day after an unforgetable day.Collection
