Snuff or patch box. Round ivory box topped by a glass dome attached to lid by a gold ring. Under the dome lid is a pink flower surrounded by smaller flowers of pink, red, blue and white (made of fabric?). The stem (made of wire) is decorated with a white bow (made of pipe cleaner?). The flowers are surrouned by small blue beads, many of which have come unglued. Incircled in gold braid. Once owned by the donor's mother, Catherine E. Stanton Thayer (Mrs. Jonathan W. Thayer), who was b. Stonington 1823 and died 1860.
