Caption from Harry Northrup: "This picture of the coasting schooner heading down harbor is typical of the vessels that used to come into Stonington. She may have brought in a load of coal, lumber, bricks, etc. It shows hard use of the sails with many patches visible. It carries a yawl boat slung over the stern, with a small engine in it to be used when necessary. The two men on deck are probably the total crew. The Yankee owners were pretty frugal, when it came to paying wages and cutting into their profits."Collection
