Description

ecru silk 2 piece wedding dress mostly handsewn a- Bodice- button down front, fitted V shape, machine made silk lace, 3/4 slevees with satin ribbon bows also at left neck edge, center front and lower left side gathered apron right front with lace trim, 10 covered buttons(one missing), ii machine made buttnholes, 5 seams on back, back draping b- Skirt- appears to be entirely handsewn, asymetrical front draping with 3 large satin ribbon bows down left front, 2 rows of small pleated ruffles overlayed with machine made silk lace, row at hem has 3 overlapping layers-the last being the tan cotton lining, lower edge of lining has a 9inch stiff cotton pleated ruffle with cotton lace trim (this lining ruffle has machine stitching and probably was purchased in dry goods store), modest fishtail, inside back has 2 areas of partial hoops in drawstring casings, right BACK pocket of cotton herringbone, cartdrige pleating center back c-Petticoat- machine made, ecru cotton, 2 rows of layered lace ruffle at hem, drawstring waist, one casing remains for partial hoop
