Dining Room of Capt. Amos Sheffield House, 1750 at 76 Water Street "Dining room in home of Comdr. and Mrs. Griffith Baily Coale, Stonington CT, built in 1750 by Capt. Amos Sheffield. Originally the kitchen, the floor has a crown as did the eck of the builder's whaling ships. Walls are hung with whaling irons, and all the furnishings date around 1750."
