Woven star shaped ornament made from shells in Tabuaeran, 2006. Tabuaeran is an island in the central Pacific, also known as Fanning Island. Captain Edmund Fanning of Stonington was the first European to spot the island from his ship Betsy on June 11, 1798, and it was named for him.
