Scope and Content

Stonington March 16th 1778 Recommendation to the State Treasurer, John Lawrence, that taxes on the listed individuals be abated as each had left the Colony without assets when the taxes became due and so were uncollectible. Signed by Charles Phelps, John Williams, Jonathan Palmer, Christoper Brown, Peleg Chesebrough, and Joseph Smith, Selectmen. Back appears to be used for practising letters "Nothing is so hard but diligence"
