Nathaniel Palmer Eight Hundred & Forty three pounds Eight Shillings & five pence for Wages due to his late Company stationed at Stonington ..." Written and signed by Thomas Seymour, signed by Oliver Ellsworth, both Justices. Nathaniel Palmer signed receipt on verso; John Treadwell signed as auditor on verso, Sept 1, 1777 No. 5060 Nathaniel Palmer was a soldier in the American Revolution. In 1776, as captain, he was placed in command of a Company of musket men at Stonington under the overall command of Maj. Jonathan Wells. John Treadwell was later Governor of Connecticut
