Stonington May 11 1782 Certification that Mrs. Jemina Palmer [wife of Jonathan Wait Palmer] was appointed administrator of his estate. Signed by Joshua Babcock, JP. On verso William Hoseley verifies that Letter of Administration was exhibited in his office, dated Aug 30 1782 Jonathan Wait Palmer was a sergeant in Capt. James Eldridge's (Stonington) Company, 6th Connecticut Regiment, commanded by Col. Samuel Holden Parsons. He later served in the 1st Regiment. Early in 1781 Palmer became ill, received a field discharge from Major General Parsons and died later in the year.
