Civil War Epaulets with Tin Box a- Tin box with coppery lacquer, blue velvet lining, interior lid hs cotton batting under lining 3 3/4 oval metal platform in center of box with a one inch elevation on top half this sits on a oval piece of red velvet there is a distinct delineation on outside bottom 7 inches X 9 1/2 inches b-c Epaulets with 1/4 inch diameter brass bullion fringe silver oak leaf denotes Lt. Colonel, convex brass button with spread button underside brass shoulder attachment, one labeled right red lacquered paper and red silk over batting d-e Shoulder Boards with spun brass wire trim, red wool ground with two silver oak leaves underide is black wool at edges held by stitching across burlap mesh lining
