Chinese export porcelain bowl, white with blue and gold designs, once belonged to Captain Fanning.
Monogram ELF : Edmund Fanning's wife was Sarah Sheffield. Their surviving children were Sarah Fanning Bleecker and Captain William Axson Fanning. William m. Juliet Palmer (Capt. Nat's sister) and had Sarah Elizabeth who married Edward Anthony Bradford. So, who might ELF be? Elizabeth Palmer (1848-1929) m. 1873 Richard Fanning Loper Jr, but this porcelain looks too early for them.Collection
