Miner Banner length: 34 inches width: 26 inches Unbleached muslin, double faced, with hand painted shield of red and silver The red field has three silver circles and a silver band The name Miner is in capital letters and painted silver There is a wooden dowel through top pocket seam with silk cream bows at each end An oaktag card has been sewn to lower edge of banner and reads: "This banner was carried by Harry Miner of the 9TH generation of Miner's in the Pagent of early settlers of Stonington at the centenial(centennial) The Battle of Stonington Aug 10,1914" ( notice spelling errors) general information on banner symbols: red---military strength circles of white/silver----worthy of trust band across middle----military belt or girdle of honor
