Description

Two unidentified men standing on the deck of the SS Lansing. They could be Joseph Mercadante, founder of the Nafra Company; Captain F.H. Meader of Boston, who was in charge of the construction of the vessel; Captain J.W. Proctor of New York, consulting engineer; or representatives of the Ship Construction and Trading Company. The Lansing steamship was rebuilt by the Ship Construction and Trading Company, Inc. of Stonington for the Nafra Company of New York.
