Enterprise Vegetable Slicer

Use

Vegetable slicer mounted on board with area cut out at base to allow a bowl to be placed there. As described in the c. 1927 "Enterprise Specialties Catalog," the Vegetable Slicer No. 49 slices all vegetables, fruits, etc., such as cabbages for sauer-kraut and cole slaw, potatoes, beets, turnips, carrots, apples for drying, pineapples, cucumbers . . . " This particular slicer does not have "No. 49" on the object, but does have the patent date of June 5, 1883 and is identical to the one in the catalog. It has more of a japanned painted decoration on it than in the catalog.
