Overall Condition
FairNotes
Overall fair condition, with desiccation and embrittlement of fibers throughout. Some areas of wear typical of use, with abrasions and loss of weft fibers on cuffs, proper right (PR) sleeve near elbow, and PR tail along side edge. Points of double breasts and proper left (PL) tail are curled from storage. Plain weave binding along collar is extremely worn along front and missing along back. Linen lining used for sleeves in good condition. Evidence of insect damage along back midline near collar and as noted by presence of exoskeleton in tissue wrapping.Recommendations
Insect abatement recommended (freezing method), followed by vacuuming, and gentle humidification. Stabilization of the abrasion on the sleeve is also suggested.Create Date
