To all people to whom these presents shall come know ye that I Joseph Butterworth of Warren in the State of Rhode Island yeoman for and in consideration of the love good will and and natural affection which I have and do fair to my grandson Benjamin Barton son of my daughter Lois Barton and other good causes me to hereunto moveing have given granted bargained conveyed and confirmed unto him my grandson his heirs and assigns one lot of land lying in a place called hoosack in the township called Seconk [Seekonk] in the State of Massachusetts Bay as it is numbered on the [plon?] of said township 129 to have and to hold said lot of land to him my said grandson his heirs and assigns forever against all other gifts grants bargains sails wills intails [illegible phrase] free clear freely and clearly acquited off and from all ineumbrances so that he my said grandson his heirs and assigns shall and may by serve and vertue of these presents have hold occupie posses and quietly injoy all the above said lots with all the privilidgs and appertonances to the two said lots belongs or [?] anyways appertaining so that any person or persons claiming any right title in or to any of the above said primises either by or under me shall by these presents forever be [defamed?] in witness whereof I the said Joseph Butterworth have hereunto set my hand and seal this third day of April annodomini one thousand seven hundred and eight Joseph Butterworth Signed sealed and delivered in the presents of [?] James Miller Russell Mason Bristol [?] Warren Apriel 8th; 1780 Personally appeared the above named Joseph Butterworth and acknowledged the above instrument to be his voluntary act and deed before William Barton Justice of Peace
