Description

Painting, oil. Painting depicts a pastoral landscape of Carroll County farmland, showing a large fenced white farm house across from what appears to be the ruins of a previous structure with a sign “1774” still hanging. There are several figures in the lower right possibly hunting, with smaller children running in the background. Painted by local artist Elmer Bloomfield Stubbins (1868-1942). Appears to be the same farm portrayed from a different angle from another one of Stubbin’s works (L2025.001.001). On Loan from Gordon Family Collection.
