Description

Print, photographic. B/W image on silver gelatin developing out paper. 8" x 10". The Westminster War Memorial, corner of Main Street and Pennsylvania Avenue. Taken the day of its dedication, 11 December 1949, Large marble monument that reads "Dedicated to the honor and sacrifice of the men and women of Westminster who served in the Armed Forces of the United States in all wars." There is an eagle above the inscription. To the back left of the monument is a small line of trees, telephone poles, and a sign for "American Amoco Gas". On back stamped in black ink "Joseph L. Mathias Monuments Westminster, MD. Baltimore, MD. Hanover, PA." in pencil "Dec. 11, 1949".
