In August 1886, a family reunion for the descendants of Phillip Jones, Jr. was held at Walnut Grove in Patapsco Neck, Baltimore County. The event also marked the centennial celebration of the mansion. During the gathering, Harry J. Shellman recited a poem, and Mary Shellman presented a history of the family.
